GIVENCHY NOIR INTERDIT MASCARA

GIVENCHY NOIR INTERDIT MASCARA

I’ve been playing with quite a few mascaras over the past couple weeks and I have a new mascara review from Givenchy. I have really straight lashes that are often barely visible unless I have mascara on.

The house of Givenchy launched the innovative Noir Interdit Mascara with an unusual applicator! Noir Interdit Mascara features an innovative 90° bendable brush that’s inspired by Givenchy’s backstage shows, this mascara offers a unique stretching formula to sweep on the ultimate lash extension effect—without compromising your lashes and customized volume. It seamlessly gives you intensely lengthened, volumized, and defined lashes.

The Noir Interdit Mascara comes in a weighty sleek black tube with silver ribbon detailing and it’s very much reminiscent of their Rouge Interdit and Rouge Interdit Vinyl lipsticks. The formulation is scented with a lovely floral fragrance that I actually like even though I do have a sensitive nose.

I love the innovative wand design as it helps to catch and coat the finer, smaller eyelashes, and it keeps the lashes separated and defined. I think the design is pretty cool and innovative and I actually like it although it’s a little awkward to use and it does take some getting used to but it’s actually not bad at all once you get the hang of it. When I first saw the wand and also started using it, my first thought was that it reminded me of a comb. The wand itself is a comb made of stiff tapered plastic bristles only on one side. The brush grabs the lashes easily, even at the base without touching the skin, and application is clump-free. The formula is very lightweight and long-lasting. I’m only wearing one coat in the photo below!

What do I really think? I am extremely picky with mascaras as I have straight lashes that really has no curl so I’m always looking for something that is going to help in that department. Most mascaras smudge, don’t hold the curl, or flake. This one from Givenchy defines lashes, coated evenly, did not smudge and there was no clumping so on those points it’s a winner. For me I also have a serious need for volume and while this gives me all the length and separation in the world, unfortunately it doesn’t hold a curl very well and it’s lacking volume so it didn’t give me as much drama as some other formulas. It came off the lashes easily at the end of the day with my makeup remover or cleansing oil.

The Givenchy Noir Interdit mascara is exclusively available at Sephora and retails for CAD $38 / US $29.

Have you tried this mascara as yet? What is favorite mascara?
