HOURGLASS AMBIENT LIGHTING EDIT UNLOCKED PALETTE

Hourglass launched a new palette called the Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Palette for the Holiday 2018. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Palette features 6 ambient lighting powders. It is a multitasking, vegan palette featuring six all-new, exclusive shades of Ambient Lighting Powder, Bronzer, Blush, and Metallic Strobe Lighting Powder. All six powders in this set are formulated with pure Photoluminescent Technology to capture, diffuse, and soften surrounding light for skin that appears softer, younger, and lit from within. I purchased mine from Sephora.

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Palette is housed in a sleek gold mirrored compact with a large mirror on the inside. It’s the brand’s first 100% vegan and cruelty free palette and 5% of profits will go to support the Nonhuman Rights Project.

The Ambient Lighting formula is one of my all-time favorite as the powders emit a soft glowy finish to the skin. The coverage of these I would say ranges from light to medium finish that is just very beautiful and natural looking on the skin. I think this is the perfect compact palette for medium to tan skintone. I’m an NC40-42 with medium/olive skin and these shades work so naturally on me. I love how you can mix and match any of the powders together to create a custom blend. I love mixing the blushes with Champagne Strobe Light to create an extremely glowy blush. Mood Flush is a soft plum shade that gives a natural flush on the apples of the cheeks, very medium-natural. For my highlight, I like to mix several of the shades (Soft Light, Filtered Light, and Champagne Strobe Light) and dusted them on the high points of my cheeks, the bridge of my nose, and the center of my forehead. These are luminous with light reflective particles. I also like using Filtered Light all over my face with a light hand and it makes my skin look so smooth and yes filtered. The Golden Bronze Light bronzer looks very natural on me, it is not too warm and not too neutral. Lasting power is excellent on all as well. They stay put on the skin without emphasizing pores or fine lines. On the face they give a very natural glow. There’s no harshness to the powders and it has a very natural look to it but the colors are buildable if you layer.

This is another Hourglass palette that didn’t disappoint IMO because I also love how convenient this palette is for travel or to create a look with a single compact. Plus I love the fact that all the shades are new. Definitely not a must-have but I’ve always been a fan of Hourglass so I do really like this palette and how versatile it is to be able to make use of the whole palette to create different looks. Not a fan of the price tag though.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Unlocked is currently available on Sephora.com for CAD $95/US $80.
