Jeffree Star Scorpio Liquid Lipstick

Jeffree Star Scorpio Liquid Lipstick

I am completely late to the game when it comes to the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks. To be honest, I wasn’t one of those people that was going crazy over these lipsticks and up until about a month or two ago, I had no idea who the heck Jeffree Star was! I know I know, don’t judge me. Clearly I had been living under a rock or something.  Anyway, I was actually fortunate enough to have won this in a giveaway and have worn it a few times.

I have the shade Scorpio, which is so unique and is a cool purple grey with a matte finish. It’s a perfect execution of a purply silver hue. I love the hot pink packaging of the Scorpio Velour Liquid Lipsticks, so pretty.

The lipsticks contain a doe-foot applicator. As I only have one of the shades, I will give my take on what I think of it. This applied smoothly and I find the formula to be creamy but not runny at all and there was no streakiness nor was it patchy. The texture is very pigmented, lightweight and comfortable on the lips. I find that this is very similar to the Kat Von D lipstick formula which I love! Of course it dries down to a matte finish and remains comfortable throughout the day. This wasn’t the longest wearing liquid lipstick and this shade lasts for about 6-7 hours. I also found that it transfers a bit and also tend to feel a little bit sticky when you press your lips together. It’s always a good idea to exfoliate your lips prior to application and I always wear a balm (nothing shiny or slippery) prior to liquid lipstick or any matte lipstick application.

One finally thing about the shade, unfortunately, it doesn’t compliment my medium/olive skin tone very well and I think this would be better suitable for someone who is of fairer or deeper skintone. I still wear it from time to time but what I have been doing sometimes is topping it with a pinkish gloss so I don’t look so dead. It’s such a beautiful and unique shade, I just wish it flatters me better. As I like the formula so much, I definitely want to try other wearable colors.

Have you tried any of these lipsticks? Do you know who Jeffree Star is?…Lol

xo ❤
