Okay, Okay, I know I must be the last person to try this lipstick but in my defense, it is always “out of stock” on the Canadian Sephora website. It also took me a while to purchase this lipstick because apparently there was a “bad batch” and/or a few variation of colors with the original shade been more mauve-rose pink.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita is described as a “chestnut rose.” It’s a muted rosy brown with a matte finish. The texture is very pigmented, lightweight and comfortable on the lips. This formula is thin so during application, I find that you can actually start off a bit sheer and then build up the opaqueness. It had great coverage that applied evenly and smoothly and I like that it is not too heavy and cakey. It takes a couple minutes to set. The lasting power was really good, and lasted on me for about 8 hours, although it felt slightly drying, so I recommend using a good lip balm under so that your lips won’t crack or burn. Also, apply this on moisturized, exfoliated, clean lips and it will wear beautifully. Surprisingly, I really like this lipstick. I was afraid the color wouldn’t complement my skin tone very well and because of my pigmented lips; sometimes lipsticks look different in the tube than they do on my lips but I must say, this looks great against my medium/olive complexion. The only con is that it can oxidize a bit darker after drying.
