MAKE UP FOR EVER | Pro Sculpting Duo Review

Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Duo-Golden- medium-deep to deep skin-MUFE-Pro-Sculpting-Duo001Yep, another contouring/highlighting product and this one is from MAKE UP FOR EVER. I must admit when I purchased this, I have no intent on using it as a contour. I became intrigue with this product because I heard that the highlight shade is a dupe for Estee Lauder Heat Wave and MAC Whisper of Guilt and I do not have either of those highlighters. So I basically bought this for the highlight shade.

The Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Duo’s come in two shades, Pink Beige for fair to medium skin (cool undertones) and Golden for medium-deep to deep skin (warm undertones). I picked up #2 Golden for medium-deep to deep skin because of my medium/olive skin and as I mentioned above, purely for the highlighting shade. These are gel-powder formula, weightless, and comfortable to the touch and blends seamlessly. Because of the way they are formulated, they are ‘mistake proof’, which means they are easy to blend out. The formula is very lightweight, finely milled, silky and soft.

The highlight shade is gold and it is very pretty and pigmented, not chunky glittery and very smooth. It has a beautiful luminous shimmery sheen, while the bronzer is a deep chocolate matte but there is a satin sheen in it that comes in a really nice sleek compact. The bronzer isn’t very pigmented but is buildable. I wouldn’t say this is so much a sculpting powder because the bronzer is very orange tone and very warm. Personally, I’m not big on contouring and I actually prefer using this portion as a bronzer, plus I already have a contouring palette that I am really enjoying (review here). I wouldn’t recommend this as a contouring palette, these are for bronzing up the skin and highlighting the cheekbones and whatever other areas of the face you want to highlight. I do think this is a lovely product that will give your complexion some dimension and luminosity, but I also think that there are better contouring palettes out there. I think it is suitable for all skin tones, you just have to be careful not to use a very heavy hand if you are on the fairer side. It wore very well on my skin and lasted about 7 hours. Overall rating: 4/5
