The Makeup For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation was launched late last year, and I initially didn’t pick this up because I thought it might be too drying on my skin as I prefer a more dewy luminous look due to my combination/dry skin. I haven’t used a stick foundation in years nor have I ever tried the new Make Up For Ever Ultra HD formula so one day while playing around at Sephora, I swatched this on my hand; it felt so creamy and smooth that I decided to give it a try. Totally impulse buy!!! Who has done that before? Show your hands!!!

This stick foundation was apparently developed specifically for the film and TV industry’s most advanced technology, it is completely invisible under the latest, super-focused 4k lens and contains amino acid coated pigments. I was matched to the shade 153 = Y405 – Golden Honey, which is perfect.

This is a medium but buildable foundation that has a lightweight texture. It does leaves a natural-looking, radiant finish, and it’s formulated with hyaluronic spheres for time-released hydration that is perfect for normal to dry skin. The formula is creamy, super easy to blend and comfortable to wear. A lot of stick foundations are very chalky or really thick and like I mentioned, my concern was that the formula would be drying and cakey, which is often the case in stick foundations, at least for me or probably very greasy. However, not the case with this as not only does it smooths over the skin effortlessly creating an even toned, moisturized complexion; it also doesn’t accentuate skin’s texture or dry patches. I would say the finish was borderline dewy, just a nice radiant foundation that gives a natural glow. I always use an illuminating or moisturizing primer underneath because I tend to get really dry around my nose and both worked perfectly. This wore very well for about 6 hours before it started to fade in some areas and I didn’t find that it oxidize on my skin. Only a few swipes along the perimeter of the face and down the center of the nose and cheeks is all you need. Plus the stick warms to the skin instantly and allows you to blend out the product easily with a brush or a dampened Beauty Blender. Because it’s a stick, it is great for travel and to keep in your purse for quick touch-ups!

Overall, I really don’t have any complaint about the product, okay maybe one; you only get 0.44 oz of product for CAD $52.00 / US $43.00, which is a bit steep. Aren’t foundations typically 1 oz? Anyway, really love the effect it gives without the heavy feeling. Get it now at Sephora.

Have you checked out this formula yet? What did you think?
