Summer Glow Highlighters
If you have been reading my blog for a bit, you know I love dewy glowing skin. Having glowing skin makes your skin look healthy. I’ve rounded up highlighters or luminizers—whatever you want to call it, that is bound to give you healthy-looking radiant skin. The main purpose of highlighting your face is to bring forward your best features. These are products you dab on your cheekbones, under your brow-bone, in the inner corners of your eyes and your cupid’s bow. Whether you favour a liquid or powder, enhance your best features with these fresh highlighters that are great for summers or anytime of the year! Note: no limited-editions included!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette: This is a trio of soft, finely-milled powders that are designed to give dimension to the face, and are made to simulate different lighting effects by diffusing, softening and tinting the skin. These provide a beautiful finish and comes in a range of colours to suit your skin tone. I did a full review on this that you can read here.
Kevyn Aucoin the Celestial Powder ‘Candlelight’: is a soft champagne, golden beige color with a frosty finish and looks very natural on the skin and provides a soft glow. What’s also great about this highlighter is that it is easy to blend out that you will never overdo it and it won’t settle in your pores. I did a full review on this that you can read here.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Powder ‘Opal’: The Becca shimmering skin perfector is a super soft, smooth and beautiful champagne highlight with a golden sheen. It feels velvety on the skin and it is just a stunning highlighter. If you have deeper/darker skin tone and like a hint of golden/bronze highlight, Topaz would be a great option for you. This is great for a special evening out but if you like to shin like the gods, wear it anytime you like!
MAC Soft and Gentle Mineralize Skinfinish: This is a long-time favourite of mine and the first high end highlighter I ever bought. It is also one of MAC’s bestselling highlighters. It is a stunning champagne shade with pink toned marbling with a frosty metallic finish that gives the skin a beautiful glow. I did a full review on this that you can read here.
Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder ‘Highlight 01’: this is a beautiful peachy pink shade and is perfect for both warm and cool skin tones. It does give a natural, but visibly glowy look to the skin and feels lovely on the skin. I love it when I am wearing a more natural makeup look!
Josie Maran Argan Enlightenment Illuminizer: Subtly shimmery for an all-over glow! It is a golden champagne color with a soft shimmer. This is a great illuminating product for all skin types, and works great for oily skin too because this doesn’t make your skin look more shiny or oily. It is best mixed with foundation or BB creams which is how I use it. I did a full review on this that you can read here.
Benefit Watt’s Up!: A super easy cream-to-powder gorgeous champagne highlighter stick. This is a lovely product – just swipe it on and blend it out with your finger tips or a soft sponge tip. The bronzy champagne hue really enhances your summer glow and also great to use on the go!
Highlighting Tips:
*If you’re fair skin tone, try something opalescent.
*If you’re olive skin tone, try something champagne.
*If you’re caramel skin tone, try something golden.
*If you’re dark skin tone, try something bronzy.
* If your skin is really dry, you might prefer a liquid or cream highlighting product.
