PAT MCGRATH SKIN FETISH SUBLIME PERFECTION FOUNDATION

PAT MCGRATH SKIN FETISH SUBLIME PERFECTION FOUNDATIONToday I’ll be sharing a review on one of the three foundations I’ve been testing. I’ll have blog posts shortly on the other two. Today’s review is on the Pat McGrath Skin Fetish Sublime Perfection Foundation. The Skin Fetish Sublime Perfection Foundation is a natural finish liquid foundation which claims to be long-wearing, customizable foundation that builds from sheer to medium coverage in a wide range of universal hues that manifest the ultimate sublime skin standard.

It has a serum-like consistency, with ingredients that help hydrate, blur, and smooth the skin and comes in 36 shades and a good number of undertones. The 36 hues are separated into five categories: Light, Light Medium, Medium, Medium Deep, and Deep with neutral, warm, and cool undertones. The coverage falls at a solid medium level, but you can easily sheer it out or build it up with the setting powder.

The foundation comes in a vintage inspired bottle which I absolutely adore. The glass bottle feels luxe and heavy.

I matched myself sight unseen to Light Medium 13 (match to Armani Luminous Silk 6.5) which has yellow undertones and it matches perfectly. I could have gone a shade darker especially since I get tan in the summertime but this works really well on my skin tone. The finish of the foundation is very natural looking with a subtle glow and feels very light on the skin. It almost feels like you’re not wearing anything on your face but the coverage is there. As I mentioned, this is a medium coverage which is my coverage of choice, so if you’re looking for a full coverage foundation this isn’t it.

This is one of those foundations that looks better as the day goes on in my opinion. I use about 2-3 pumps and I alternate between a brush and a beauty-blender for this one. I don’t tend to use a lot of concealer so I didn’t feel the need to add concealer under eyes or around the nose with this foundation, though I do sometimes (depending on the day). I can also wear this foundation without a setting powder which I love since I’m on the drier side. Lasting power is very good but as usual, I get a bit oily in the T-zone which is normal for me, despite having dry/combo skin.

Overall, I really like this Pat McGrath Foundation and very impressed with how it looks and wears. I recommend it for anyone looking for a light to medium coverage foundation that isn’t overly dewy or glowy on the skin. And if you think it’s worth the money, it retails for CAD $90 / US $68 at Sephora which is where I purchased mine. If you are oily, I would definitely use powder to set it.
