Tarte Tarteist PRO Glow to Go Highlight & Contour Palette

Tarte Tarteist PRO Glow to Go Highlight & Contour Palette

Such a big name for a little compact! A little while ago, I picked up the new Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow To Go Palette. Since I don’t do a lot of contouring, I opted for this travel size version instead of the larger Tarteist Pro Glow palette. When I first received it, I have to admit that I was disappointed in the product size, although when it comes to contouring I usually feel like contouring is an extra step I don’t have time for. Honestly, I’m just too lazy to do it on a daily basis so this size palette turned out to be perfect to say the least!.

Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow to Go Highlight & Contour Palette includes two highlighter shades and one contour shade. It comes in a super cute slim, black cardboard compact that had a velvety feel on the outside and a mirror on the inside. It is so small, it fits in the palm of my hand. The powders smell amazing and my littlest one said it smells like chocolate.

Gleam is a beautiful light beige with a frosted sheen. I find that this color was very intense and I remember the first time I used it not realizing it was so pigmented I literally looked like a disco ball.

Burst is a creamy yellow with a golden frosted shimmer. It too was pigmented with a soft, smooth texture; but it also had more of a powdery feel than Gleam and was slightly on the chalky side.

A little goes a very long way with these highlighters, especially the shade Gleam. Both shades work very well for my medium skin tone but I prefer mixing both shades together as I find that Burst kinda tones down Gleam a bit, but still provides a very beautiful glow to the skin. These are in no way subtle highlighters and they offer a really beautiful shine without the chunky glitter or shimmer.

Chisel is a neutral medium brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. I didn’t find that the shade was too warm for me and I actually really like it quite a bit. It’s not too orange or muddy. It had very good pigmentation and blends nicely onto the skin.

Swatches from L-R: Gleam, Burst and Chisel

I don’t think this is a palette that is universal so I don’t think it will work for all skin tones but it is a beautiful palette for pale to medium skin tone. This is a perfect palette to keep in your everyday makeup bag although I think the price point (US $23 / CAD $30 – 0.24 oz) could have been better. If you already own a lot of contouring products I’m not sure you will need this but I’m very happy with the purchase. All the shades wore very well for about eight hours before fading.

Have you checked this out yet or the larger Pro Glow palette?
