On occasion, there are a few things I usually don’t bother with because I either forget, I don’t have the time or more often than not, I just don’t want to — like bronzing and/or contouring, using a concealer all the time, doing a wing liner, using a lip liner, curling my lashes (never done it but I have a lash curler
) or wearing lashes. But something that is a must at all times is wearing mascara. Since I don’t wear lashes (okay, maybe only a handful of times in my lifetime), I’m always looking for that HG mascara for my short pathetic lashes. I mean who doesn’t want long voluminous lashes? I wasn’t blessed in that department like my hubby who can literally fly with his they’re so long and curled (I’m so jelly).
So when L’Oreal launched a new mascara (for Drugstore mascaras, their Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara is my HG, along with Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Mascara) and it not only look a lot like cult favourite Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, which is already my favorite high-end mascara, but maybe a dupe, and for less than half the price; to say I was pretty excited is an understatement. I’m not gonna do a comparison between this and Too Faced mascara because there are many videos/posts out there already; but I am gonna give my thoughts on it. Personally, I don’t need my mascaras to perform miracles; I just need them to give me great results!
L’Oréal Lash Paradise Mascara claims:
“Take your lashes to paradise with voluptuous volume & intense length. Soft wavy bristle brush holds the maximum amount of formula. 200+ bristles catch every lash for a dramatic volumizing effect. Silky smooth formula glides on evenly and easily. This volumizing and lengthening mascara delivers a full lash fringe that’s feathery soft. No flaking. No smudging. No clumping.”
With a metallic millennial pink tube, it’s very pleasing to look at aesthetically.
Here’s a before and after pic with one coat. The application process was very easy as the mascara fluid isn’t sticky or messy, and the product glides onto your lashes from the brush.
First, I really like the wand, it’s big and fluffy. And I like the formula; it’s not too wet and not too dry and it’s very black. I like my lashes to be super dark, super black and thick. It makes my lashes look very fanned out and fluffy. There’s no flaking, smudging, or transferring and the brush coat the lashes really nicely. Also it’s not too crispy either so layering later in the day is real easy.
Overall this mascara provides voluminous coverage while adding a boost of length. Given the fact that I don’t wear lashes, this one’s got my seal of approval. Plus it’s a great mascara if you’re looking to save on a drugstore mascara that works just as good as a high-end one.
