theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter

I have been wanting to try this highlighter since last year and even more so when I heard one of my favorite Youtubers saying it was her favorite highlighter. theBalm describe Mary-Lou Manizer as being an ‘honey hued luminizer that catches everybody’s eye and works as a highlighter, shadow and shimmer that diffuses light’.

Although I like my makeup packaging to be classy, the theBalm packaging is super cute and fun and this is no exception with its flirty names and retro theme illustrations on the front of the compact.

theBalm-Mary-Lou-Manizer-Highlighter-maryloumanizer003Mary-Lou Manizer is a soft shimmery pale champagne with subtle warm gold tones. The texture is extremely finely-milled, silky, soft, and the pigmentation is fantastic. It can be used as a highlighter and eyeshadow making it a very versatile product. I love using it as a brow bone highlighter, inner corner highlighter and cheek highlighter. It brings so much light to the face without adding chunky glitters and the colour is perfect for my skin tone; but I also think this shade will work on all skintones. It is actually very soft looking on the skin but you can definitely overdo it with this highlighter, so make sure you start slowly and build it up. Less is more and you can use it very sparingly for a beautiful effect or layer and build it up for a stunning result. I find that you do not need a lot of this product otherwise you can end up looking metallic. You just need the tiniest amount on the tops of your cheekbones and then blend it out to avoid accentuating pores and fine lines. It looks really beautiful on the skin and it is just gorgeous! Overall rating: 4.8/5

You can find Mary-Lou Manizer online at Amazon or if you’re in the GTA area, I got mine at Rexall.
