I’m excited to share one of my favorite skincare products from La Roche-Posay – the Cicaplast Balm B5. I have used and loved so many things from La Roche-Posay over the years. They have a lot of great everyday staples for a wide range of skin types and needs. My little girls use a lot of their products as well. What I love about La Roche-Posay products is that you can also use them on babies. Prior to this product blowing up on TikTok, it has been a staple in my everyday skincare routine and today, I’ll share why it’s a must-have.

This multi-purpose soothing cream hydrates cracked, chapped, chafed skin and dry skin irritations. Non-greasy, skin protectant relieves dry, rough skin, while protecting from drying effects of wind and cold.

Hydrating therapeutic cream protects chafed skin from diaper rash and helps seal out wetness, while helping to treat & prevent diaper rash. Suitable for adults, children and babies 1 week and up.

The balm is packed with powerhouse ingredients such as Vitamin B5, Shea Butter, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Madecassoside and La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water. In an ever-evolving skincare routine, this balm can be use on all skin types that have skin concerns such as rough, cracked skin; dry skin irritations on face and body; chapped, chafed skin; diaper rash and sensitive skin, and a little goes a long way. It is even suitable for babies as young as 1 week.

When it comes to skin repair, a balanced microbiome is essential. This balm is perfect for repairing skin barrier when it’s damaged, for soothing sensitive, dry or irritated skin. It also reduces redness and helps to heal burns. I have dry skin, and it is perfect as a moisturizer. I only use it on days when my skin is irritated or after strong actives or retinol. It is also perfect if you’ve over exfoliated, using tretinoin or a really strong retinol or have any kind of rash. After the first night you’ll notice calmer skin especially if you’re dealing with redness and irritation. It can leave a white cast but this disappeared into the skin after a while.

I was a little surprised how much I enjoyed using this product. I love the rich texture with non-greasy formulation and how multi-purpose of a product it is with evidence-based ingredient list and best of all, it is fragrance-free and non-comedogenic. Since it is a thicker balm, it’s a good idea to first warm it up between your fingers for a few seconds. Bottom line, just an ideal product that is hydrating, relieve, and protect the skin and for treating targeted areas that are prone to dryness and irritation.

The La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5 is available for $16 at laroche-posay.ca and Ulta.
