So this is my first YSL Lipstick and boy have I been missing out. I am in loveeeeeeeeeee. Where has this been all my life? Okay Okay, I know it’s been around for a while, but come on now, the price is a little steep for one lipstick. I ordered mine from the Sephora website and I must say I had a very difficult time choosing that one perfect shade because they are all gorgeous and because I was also unable to swatch them in person. I wasn’t even sure which line to go with, the Rouge Volupte Shine or the Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual Radiant w/ SPF 15; but this color (#9 Nude in Private) sold me so I went with the Rouge Volupte Shine line.
YSL Nude in Private – spicy warm beige (#9) Rouge Volupte Lipstick: It is a dusty rose pinky-beige with warm undertones and a soft shine. It had mostly opaque color coverage and lasts three to five hours on me. This is a beautiful natural everyday nude color without washing me out and great for day and night, whether you’re going all casual, going to work or glammed up for a special occasion. The color works great for my pigmented lips and NC40 medium skin tone.
The YSL Rouge Volupte formula and texture is very creamy and hydrating leaving your lips with a lightweight, nourishing and shine effect. The finish is glossy and shiny, which give lips a smoother appearance. The lipstick is moisturizing, easy to apply, non-sticky and silky smooth. The Rouge Volupte Shine range lipsticks are sheer but buildable and on layering, you can get a super opaque coverage but also a natural looking soft glossy finish. I did not find that the color bleeds on me nor did it feather and settles into lip lines. However, I recommend that your lips are exfoliated well otherwise I find that it will adhere to the dry patches on your lips.
These lipsticks look and feel super luxurious and the packaging are just beautiful and luxurious with the gold finish and intricate detailing to the very sturdy feel. I will definitely procure a couple more for my collection but my next purchase will be from the Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual Radiant w/ SPF 15 line just for comparison purposes and to see which formula I prefer.
