Kat Von D Lolita vs NYX Soft Spoken Comparison

Kat Von D Lolita vs NYX Liquid Suede Soft Spoken Comparison-001

As you can tell from the title of today’s post, I’ll be doing a comparison of Kat Von D Lolita and NYX Soft Spoken liquid lipsticks. This was a request from the lovely Shireen of Reflection of Sanity. If you haven’t checked out her blog as yet, then what are you waiting for? In the past, I’ve only tried some of the NYX lip glosses but never any of their lipsticks and I’m a huge fan of Lolita, so when Shireen asked me to do a comparison post to see if NYX is a good dupe for KVD, I was totally excited! I have a previous post on Kat Von D Lolita here so make sure to check it out!

Overall, these shades are very similar. Lolita pretty much have a longer lasting power because it is a true matte finish while Soft Spoken doesn’t set completely and has a bit of a satin sheen to it. Soft Spoken is also slightly tackier so it isn’t uncomfortable on the lips; so if you hate the feel of matte lipsticks because they’re drying but like/want the look of them, then this is a fantastic option. The NYX Cream Lipsticks claim to be a waterproof formula and the application was a bit streaky so you have to go over the line a few times for a smooth, even finish. I was able to get about five hours of wear from the formula while the Kat Von D Liquid Lipsticks made no claims of a waterproof formula and lasted on me for about 8 hours. If you suffer from dry lips, Soft Spoken isn’t drying and feels a bit creamer on the lips than Lolita. If you prefer something pinker, then I would suggest NYX Soft Spoken, as Kat Von D Lolita will be a better option if you prefer something more brown. Of course, I am already in love with Lolita but Soft Spoken has quickly become a favorite. Also, if you don’t want to spend $20+ on Lolita, I would recommend picking up Soft Spoken. It is just as beautiful and much more comfortable and you won’t be able to tell a huge difference!

I hope you enjoyed this post and found the comparison helpful! Have you tried either of these? Let me know in the comments below!
