Lancôme Teint Idole Ultrawear Makeup Stick

Lancôme Teint Miracle is one of my all-time favorite foundations so I was happy when I was selected by Chickadvisor to do a review on Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Stick; described as a 24-hour wear, highly pigmented, foundation stick that provides high coverage in a super-gliding, weightless texture for a matte finish. Lancôme Teint Idole Ultrawear Makeup Stick is available in 20 shades and I have the shade 420 Bisque Nfor medium to deep skin with neutral undertones. I have more of a warm undertone so I believe the shade 410 Bisque would have been better suited for my skin tone but once blended, the 420 works just fine as well.

I love the packaging; it comes in a portable compact twist up stick which is very nice and sleek and travel friendly, much like the MUFE Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation. One may look at it and think it’s quite small at 0.31 oz, which was my initial thought but the Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick is 0.25 oz and the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation is 0.44 oz. I’m not the biggest fan of matte finishes because I find they emphasize fine lines and dry patches, especially around the nose, mouth and my chin area they tend to pull dry. So if you have dry skin, I suggest using both a moisturizer and a hydrating primer, which is what I do. The product is very creamy, easy to apply and has good coverage. I found the foundation buildable up to medium coverage.

The formula goes on very smooth, but then turns into a velvety texture and gives me a natural look. The texture feels very weightless on the skin and the application is flawless. It did catch on to some of my dry patches that I have on my skin but I didn’t find that it happens every time I used this foundation so I believe it depends on whether you are properly prepping your skin before application. It evens out the complexion very nicely and doesn’t settle in to fine lines. It’s easy to build and lasts all day and I tend to have my makeup on for about 8-10 hours (sometimes less). I liked that it has SPF 21, always a bonus for me.

Comparison swatches (L-R): Lancome Makeup Stick, MUFE Invisible Cover Stick & Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Stick

This is my third stick foundation and my favorite is still the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation; but this Lancôme one is pretty impressive. Above I have swatches of all three stick foundations as comparison. If you’re a fan of medium-full coverage base with a matte finish then you might enjoy this Lancôme Teint Idole Ultrawear Makeup Stick. It has great lasting power and perfect for travelling and makeup on the go.

The Lancôme Teint Idole Ultrawear Makeup Stick is available at The Bay and Sephora and it retails for CAD $50 / US $42.

Have you checked out this formula yet? What did you think?
