Today I have a little roundup of Kosas Cosmetics. I’ve had my eyes on them for a while now, especially on their Color & Light Cream palettes but only recently took the plunge and purchase a few things. I’ve been playing around with these items for a few weeks now and ready to tell you what I think. Kosas is a clean beauty line at Sephora. It is one of those brands that is fuss free and natural looking that you can use everyday.
Described as a clean, comfy makeup and active skincare blend that is made with six nourishing botanical oils to moisturize and even tone.
My shade match on this is 05 and it works very well on my complexion. I’m sure I can go as deep as a Shade 6 in the summer time. This is a very dewy and sheer/light medium product that provides a natural skin like finish. Honestly, it is not my favorite of the three things I’ve tried from the brand. It’s very liquidy so I actually prefer to apply with my fingers or a sponge. It’s more like a skincare product rather than a foundation. Although it is sheer, it does have decent coverage. Once on the skin, it will look very dewy. I do have to set with powder. This is great for no-makeup makeup days or when I just need a little coverage.
I like how lightweight this feels on my skin but I noticed throughout the day it will break up a little bit around my forehead. Also, I find that it can pill on the face and can become blotchy and almost dry-looking. I recommend that you are exfoliating and moisturizing well and also using a really good sunscreen with this because if your skin is super dry, it will cling to dry patches and area. It’s nice and glowy (if you prep your skin well). I think a person with normal to dry skin would prefer this.
Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer
Up next is their concealer which I absolutely adore! I picked up Shade 5. It is a medium coverage concealer with a radiant finish. I have never found a concealer that I truly love, mostly because I find most concealers make my under eye look dry and gives me prematurely lines and wrinkles. Because of that, I rarely use concealers and I usually have only 2 or 3 in my makeup collection. However, this one is nice and has a nice creamy texture that blends very well. I’m very pleased with the performance of this concealer and happy I found a clean concealer that is this good. It’s not cakey and it doesn’t crease on me.
Color & Light: Crème Cream Blush & Highlighter Duo
The final product I tried and one of my favorites is the Color & Light: Crème Cream Blush & Highlighter Duo in Tropic Equinox. Each duo is available in two levels of intensity for color. The High Intensity compacts are deeper and provide more color, so they are great for anyone who has a deeper complexion.
These duos are an ultra-blendable cream blush and highlighter palette. Tropic Equinox is described as a warm neutral prismatic bronze. It comes with a peachy bronze cream blush and a pale gold highlighter. I love the color on my olive skin. The formula is very emollient and feels like butter to the touch. It’s buildable and the colors are beautiful. You can’t overdo it since the blushes sheer out easily. The formula is easy to work with and the finish is dewy. Both sides give a glowy finish without having any shimmer and there is no sticky feeling on the skin which I really like. I don’t find that these disappear before my base but if you wipe/touch your face, it will come off easily. I have applied them with my fingers, a stippling brush and a sponge and I prefer to blend out with a brush or sponge. The longevity is surprisingly good.
You can shop the Kosas line at Sephora which is where I ordered the above items.
