New from Maybelline is their Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipsticks, a new permanent range of lipsticks as part of Maybelline’s Spring 2015 release. This collection is all about pastels and Pastels + Spring time = Perfectly Pretty. The formula is infused with Honey Nectar. There are 10 shades but only 8 available in Canada and they are all pretty wearable pastels but I decided to try out Blushing Bud.
Maybelline Blushing Bud (705) Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick (US $7.49 & CAD $8.99) – On my NC40 skin, it is a muted, medium pink with a subtle hint of warm coral and a luminous finish. It was creamy and beautifully pigmented. It felt hydrating and comfortable on the lips but I did noticed that it settled a bit into fine lines (I am squeezing my lips together a bit because of my braces so fine line also appears more prominent) as you can see from the lip swatch below. The texture isn’t too light and it had semi-sheer coverage though quite opaque it applied a bit unevenly on me. It lasted about 3.5 hours on me after 2 cups of green tea.
