Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum Review

So whenever the winter season rolls around, my skin gets very dry. However, this past spring and summer, instead of the usual oily face, I find myself battling dry, flaky and peeling skin, particular around my nose and chin. And what made it worst was that my face was overly sensitive, irritated, red and burning.  I could not use foundation or any type of makeup. I tried Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E Oil and Coconut Oil and while these are excellent oils, I find that they either irritated my skin, made the problem worst or they did nothing for my skin.  So I decided to do some research for a serum and a good moisturizer because what I was using was obviously not getting the job done. That is when I came across Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum. It had great reviews on the Sephora website so I decided to purchase it as it seems like it was the answer to my prayers.

I decided to do this blog post so I could share my experience and thoughts on this product since we are now entering into the cooler months, and very soon we will be approaching winter, which means harsher temperature for our skin.  And while I do enjoy these seasons just for the simple fact that I get to pull out the bold vampy colors, I also know that my skin is going to go crazy because the cold weather can strip all the moisture from your skin.  I have been using this serum since Spring and it has done wonders for my skin.  No more tight, dry, peeling, flaking skin but well hydrated and nourished skin.

This is an oil-free serum that captures and continually diffuses water deep within the skin to restore its moisture balance and leave skin feeling soft and supple.

What Sephora website states it is formulated to do: Organic grape water is the key ingredient for reactivating the skin’s hydration mechanisms and replenishing its water reserves, while polyphenol antioxidents provide protection against UV rays and free radicals. Gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin, this serum is an ideal base for moisturizer, allowing for deeper penetration that will leave skin refreshed, hydrated, and comfortably soft.

This serum is formulated without Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates and it is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, and oil-free; formulated for dry skin.

It is packaged with a pump so bacteria will not enter as easily.

I would describe this serum as having a thin white lotion texture, featherweight and oil-free. It is very light-weight with a light texture, ultra moisturizing and not greasy. It sinks into the skin well and is packed with anti-oxidants. It is a true source of hydration that regenerates and soothes the skin deep down with specially selected plant extracts. I also find that it evens out my skin tone.

It restores the skin’s hydration balance, prepping your face for moisturizer and makeup. It has a nice texture that glides on and does not feel sticky, spreading really nicely and absorbs into your skin very quickly, yet your skin feels hydrated and not tight or dry.

I would not say this is an anti-aging serum as I have not seem any anti-aging benefits but it does leave thirsty, dry, dehydrated skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. This is very natural containing several sources of grape which provides antioxidants. This serum constantly and intensely hydrates and soothes my skin which I would describe as combination and a bit drier in the winter months.

How I use: After cleansing, I use 2 pumps and gently pat it into face and neck. It adds back in moisture and gives a nice glow to my skin. After about 10 minutes or so, I follow with moisturizer.

Price: US $49.00, CAD $52.00 ~ 1 oz

Availability: You can find this at Sephora and on Amazon.
