I don’t own many cream highlighters, in fact, the only cream highlighters I have in my collection are ones in palettes that includes a blush and/or contour or little deluxe samples. So I am excited to be able to share Marc Jacobs newest highlighter, the Glow Stick Glistening Illuminator in Spotlight. This is a portable twist-up cream stick highlighter which makes it very travel friendly so you don’t have to worry about a powder breaking.

It comes in a cute twist-up tube that looks like the chicest little travel-size deodorant. I would described the color has a cool-light pearly champagne gold and silver pigments that deposits a fine sheen. The color payoff of course will depend on how fair or deep your skin is because it is supposed to be a universal glow allowing both warm and cool complexions to use this. This gives a natural subtle glowy sheen that I find just perfect – not too sheer, not too sparkly and never looks greasy. There are so many ways to use this; under blush, under powder highlighters, on the eyes, down the bridge of the nose and cupid’s bow – basically anywhere you want a bit of a glow. It makes the skin look fresh and naturally dewy. For me this is the best kind of cream highlighter to give the skin a natural youthful glow. It glides onto the skin easily, doesn’t emphasize pores and it never looks frosty. The way I prefer to apply this is to swipe from the stick with my fingers and then dab along my cheekbones.

I think that this highlighter is for those of you that are into a more natural, dewy, healthy skin look, rather than anything really obviously highlighted but this is certainly buildable. Now if you really want that extra glow, you can also layer a powder product on top of it. If you like cream products you will enjoy this illuminator. The only thing I wish is that it was a little smoother but it’s a keeper.

You can find the Marc Jacobs Beauty Glow Stick Glistening Illuminator at Sephora for CAD $53.00 / US $42.000.

Have you checked this out? What’s your favorite cream highlighter?
