New Dior Addict Lipstick Review

fall2015_dioraddict-New-Dior-Addict-Lipstick-Review-001fall2015_dioraddict-New-Dior-Addict-Lipstick-Review-002Dior recently revamped their range of Addict Lipsticks that is now available. The relaunched Dior Addict Lipstick composes of a new formula promising a long-lasting intense colour reimagined in three unique finishes: pure colour, shimmering and pearlescent.

The clear silver Dior Addict lipstick packaging is gorgeous with a holographic print and magnetic closer. The cap has the Dior logo embossed. Each lipstick has a different colored “CD” hydra-gel core for a top coat effect and the contrasting colour runs throughout the centre of the lipstick. I purchased two of these lipsticks and have been testing them out for a few weeks now.

553 Smile

553 Smile – a pinkish nude shade that creates an illuminating, natural effect on the lips. Fun fact: the “Smile” #553 is reportedly the shade that Jennifer Lawrence herself swears by. I did not know that when I picked up this color. I just thought it was so pretty.
780 Bold – a pinkish mauve shade.

The new Dior Addict Lipstick formula is a breakthrough hybrid lipstick. These lipsticks are buttery, ultra-smooth, and lightweight with natural shine. The texture is more balm-like, and the duo color blends nicely together when applied on the lips without any dragging or tugging. It’s got a wonderful slip and feels incredible comfortable on. The overall finish is semi-sheer to medium with a glossy effect. They are moisturizing, lightly hydrating and feels like a luxurious balm on the lips; although it is easy to layer them for more pigment. These are more of a low maintenance lipstick options for everyday wear and great to keep in your purse because it’s so easy to apply.

The only drawback I find with these lipsticks is that the shades are not long-lasting as it fades after about three hours, or until I eat something then I have to reapply. Although it’s semi-sheer coverage, I’m quite impressed and satisfied with the pigmentation you get.
