NEW IN FROM RODIAL

Rodialskincare-Cosmetics-Review-rodial-makeup-001Rodial Skincare is a luxury brand that has skincare, makeup and beauty products and based out of the UK. I’ve heard great things about this brand and I was fortunate to have the opportunity to try some of their makeup products and I’m also currently testing out their Snake Serum O2 which will be reviewed shortly. The packaging of the compacts are gorgeous, feels very heavy and well made with recessed faux leather detailing. The compacts have a mirrored lid and secure with a magnetic snap.

Rodialskincare-Cosmetics-Review-rodial-makeup-002Rodialskincare-Cosmetics-Review-rodial-makeup-003Rodial Instaglam Compact Deluxe Illuminating Powder 01* is a very flattering universal champagne shade that is finely-milled with a silky, smooth lightweight texture that is fairly pigmented. This is stunning and is the perfect versatile product suiting any skin tone. Because it has undetectable shimmer running through, it never leaves the skin looking chalky or glittery like some highlights, nor does it settle into fine lines or wrinkles. In my opinion, this is a very subtle highlighter and it reminds me of the Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight The Celestial Powder. The champagne tone adds a candle-lit glow to the skin and brighten your overall complexion and add a touch of soft luminosity to the skin. Micronization technology and fine pearls in the formula gives the skin a silky texture. This illuminating powder is definitely a favorite, perfect for days when you want a subtle highlight and shine. Using a highlight or fan brush, I like to use this on my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose. It retails for CAD $75.00.

Rodialskincare-Cosmetics-Review-rodial-makeup-004Rodial Airbrush Concealer in Malibu 02*, described as an industrial-strength camouflage cream, this concealer has a very smooth and silky consistency and transfers onto the skin well.
With a wax-base, it feels light and natural on the skin and can be used to cover blemishes and dark circles, building from sheer to full coverage with a matte effect. Because of the color, this is great for my under-eyes for a brighten effect. I like to use my fingertips to warm up the product and gently pat to cover any imperfections and dark circles. This is great for taking with you on your travels for quick touch-ups.

When this landed on my desk, I was a little worried at first when I saw the word “Ash” but the color couldn’t be any more perfect. I am so amazed that the shade Ash Brown is a perfect match. With an ultra-fine, retractable tip, this makes for easy shaping and filling in of brows for buildable definition and a polished finish. The product itself is a little firmer than I would like but not scratching in any way, and a little creamy. It does a good job of mimicking the look of brow hair with great colour pay off and blendability. You have to make small strokes in order to get the hair-like effect and it never looks harsh. I love the double ended concept. At least when you run out of the brow pencil, you’ll still have the brow spoolie! The packaging is nice and very convenient as well!
