TŌN COSMETICS RED LIPSTICKS

TŌN COSMETICS RED LIPSTICKS

Earlier in August I spoke about the Canadian cosmetics line, TON Cosmetics, a brand new lipstick brand with one main goal – to help you find your perfect shade and I reviewed their entire range of nude lipsticks here. Well today, they have a new line, the REDS Collection. Just like before, you take a quick test on their website which will introduce you to your perfect lip colour match. I took the test and my perfect match was Medium Warm 2!

These lipsticks are housed in the same white and silver packaging as their initial nude shades, with the top having a pretty rhinestone jewel. Also just like the nude shades, the collection is split into 3 groups (skin tones).

If you’ve read my previous review on the nudes, they are among my favorites for formulas. They have a smooth even coverage. They’re luxurious and don’t dry out my lips like some formulas do from other brands. Lasting power is pretty average, anywhere from 3-4 hours on the lips. They will stay put as long as you don’t have contact with snacks or drinks, but they don’t stay put all day long. I find I have to reapply within a few hours. They feel comfortable on the lips without being heavy. The creams have a very natural looking sheen to the finish which I love. I found all of the shades to be very pigmented and creamy with almost a satin finish to them. I did not detect any noticeable shimmers in them.

The only thing I have to say about these lipsticks is that I didn’t noticed a huge differences between the shades as the undertones were all too similar to see a noticeable variation among one another. The fair and medium reds were just too similar. This could just be me and how they show up on my medium olive complexion with yellow undertone.

I don’t tend to wear a lot of red lipsticks but as I mentioned, the formula of these are superb and one I know many will definitely enjoy so I recommend checking them out, especially if you’re a lover of red lippies!

They retail for CAD $19 / US $15.50 and are available online at toncosmetics.com

A few of my favorite shades…  Medium Warm 2, Dark Cool & Warm 2
